I grew up in LaPorte, Indiana, just minutes from Lake Michigan. What began as pride in maintaining a neighbor's lawn became a deeper curiosity while playing baseball on high-quality fields: what separates an average playing surface from an exceptional one?
That question led me to Purdue University, where I graduated in spring 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Turf Management and Science. Working on Purdue's sports turf crew grounded my education in daily maintenance, teamwork, efficiency, and consistency.
From maintaining sports fields at Patriot Park to preparing Warren Golf Course for the 2019 U.S. Senior Open, each opportunity strengthened my understanding of healthy, resilient turf. An internship at Colorado Golf Club expanded my perspective on irrigation in a drier climate and the standards of high-level private clubs.
My first Assistant Superintendent role at Exmoor Country Club taught me to lead through staff training, task delegation, and operational planning. The Andrew Green renovation and the 2022 Western Amateur sharpened my construction coordination and championship preparation skills.
Since October 2024, I have been an Assistant Superintendent at Sycamore Hills Golf Club. I help lead daily agronomy operations, improve pest management and record keeping, and support course improvements while delivering exceptional playing conditions.
I am confident that these experiences have prepared me to lead a grounds department as a Golf Course Superintendent. I want to build a cohesive team that holds one another accountable, enjoys the work, and gets better together every day.
